Tentang Data Science: Journal of Computing and Applied Informatics
Data Science: Journal of Computing and Applied Informatics (JoCAI) merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Universitas Sumatera Utara melalui TALENTA Publisher dan dikelola oleh Fakultas Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi. Jurnal ini berstatus open access dan menerbitkan artikel secara periodik dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Januari dan Juli. Setiap edisi jurnal memuat lima naskah yang dipublikasikan secara online dan cetak. JoCAI memiliki peringkat S2 dalam sistem pemeringkatan jurnal di Indonesia.
Jurnal ini berfokus pada bidang ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi, dengan ruang lingkup spesifik pada bidang Data Science. JoCAI menerima artikel penelitian lengkap yang berkaitan dengan Computing dan Applied Informatics yang relevan dengan Data Science. Subjek yang dicakup meliputi berbagai area seperti Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Big Data, Computational Linguistics, Cryptography, Data Mining, Data Warehouse, E-Commerce, E-Government, E-Health, Internet of Things, Information Theory, Information Security, Machine Learning, Multimedia & Image Processing, Software Engineering, Socio Informatics, serta Wireless & Mobile Computing.
Sebagai jurnal yang telah terakreditasi, JoCAI berupaya menjadi sarana publikasi ilmiah nasional yang berkala dan bereputasi internasional melalui publikasi cetak maupun online. Jurnal ini memiliki ISSN untuk versi cetak (2580-6769) dan versi online (2580-829X). Proses penerimaan naskah saat ini dalam status terbuka. Hingga data terakhir, jurnal ini telah menerbitkan total 91 artikel yang telah mengumpulkan 111 sitasi.
JoCAI merupakan jurnal peer-reviewed yang menerapkan proses review untuk menjamin kualitas publikasi. Jurnal ini juga terindeks di Garuda, portal referensi dan indeksasi jurnal ilmiah nasional. Edisi terakhir yang tercatat adalah Vol. 10 No. 1 (2026). Untuk keperluan komunikasi terkait jurnal, dapat menghubungi email [email protected].
Bagi penulis yang ingin mengirimkan naskah, terdapat article processing charge (APC) sebesar Rp3.000.000 (IDR). Jurnal ini berkomitmen untuk menjadi wadah publikasi ilmiah yang berkualitas dan dapat diakses secara terbuka oleh komunitas akademik dan peneliti.

It welcomes full research articles in the field of Computing and Applied Informatics related to Data Science from the following subject area: Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Big Data, Computational Linguistics, Cryptography, Data Mining, Data Warehouse, E-Commerce, E-Government, E-Health, Internet of Things, Information Theory, Information Security, Machine Learning, Multimedia & Image Processing, Software Engineering, Socio Informatics, and Wireless & Mobile Computing. The length of manuscript is expected not to exceed 10 printed pages (1.5 line spacing) including abstract, figures, tables and references. The abstract must describes the significant points of manuscript containing aims of the paper, methods, result, and conclusion, within 250-300 words. The authors should provide 5-10 keywords of phrases that characterizes the manuscript. The manuscript is written in English for measurements and units. The manuscript as the section body is written with Times New Roman font size 11 pt with 1.5 (one and half) line spacing between lines, 12 pt spacing among paragraphs, 24 pt spacing for the next heading, and on A4 paper (210 mm x 297 mm) with the upper margin of 1.75 cm, lower margin 1.55 cm, left and right 3 and 3 cm.
