Tentang Al-Hilal: Journal of Islamic Astronomy

Jurnal "Al-Hilal: Journal of Islamic Astronomy" diterbitkan oleh Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang. Jurnal ini memiliki fokus pada bidang Astronomi Islam dan ruang lingkup yang mencakup hasil penelitian empiris dalam astronomi Islam seperti kiblat, waktu salat, kalender Islam, gerhana, serta pendekatan pada area studi lainnya seperti matematika, fisika, astrofisika, sosial, politik, antropologi, dan etnografi. Jurnal ini berfungsi sebagai media publikasi dan komunikasi gagasan astronomi Islam yang berasal dari studi teoritis dan analitis, serta hasil penelitian di bidang ilmu alam dan sosial. Jadwal terbit jurnal ini adalah dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan April dan Oktober. Frekuensi penerbitan ini menunjukkan produktivitas yang konsisten dengan dua edisi per tahun. Edisi terakhir yang tercatat adalah Vol. 7 No. 2 (2025), yang menunjukkan bahwa jurnal ini telah berjalan selama beberapa tahun dan memiliki siklus penerbitan yang teratur. Berdasarkan data yang tersedia, jurnal ini telah menerbitkan total 117 artikel. Jumlah sitasi untuk artikel-artikelnya tercatat sebanyak 237. Jurnal ini tidak terindeks di Scopus, namun terindeks di Garuda. Peringkat SINTA untuk jurnal ini adalah S3. Fokus dan Ruang Lingkup

Al-Hilal Journal is a scientific journal published in April and October per year by the Islamic Astronomy at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Walisongo, Semarang colaboration with Asosisasi Dosen Falak Indonesia (ADFI). Articles published in this journal are the results of empirical research in Islamic Astronomy (such as qibla, salat times, Islamic Calendar, Eclipse and others), and its approaching on other area studies (mathematics, physics, astrophysics, social, politics, anthropology, ethnography and others). This journal has specifications as a medium of publication and communication of Islamic Astronomy ideas derived from theoretical and analytical studies, as well as research results in the field of both natural and social science. The editor hopes that writers, researchers and legal experts will contribute in this journal.

These should be original, research-based, unpublished, and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to review by the editors, editorial board, and blind reviewers. Submissions that violate our guidelines on formatting or length will be rejected without review. Online Submission Guidelines Manuscripts must be sent online to the Al-Hilal portal . Steps for Submitting Manuscripts Authors should register and check the “author” column on the registration page . After logging in, click "New Submission". The stages of article submission are as follows: I n the Start section, complete all the checklists, then click save and continue .
